Trinidad may be one of the smallest cities in California however, visitors – don’t be fooled. This is a great place to visit when driving along US Highway 101 during the spring and summer months. Memorial Lighthouse is in the foreground; in the distance we see Trinidad Harbor, fishing boats, Trinidad Head, and a glimpse of the pier. Trinidad has been one of the best locations to sport fish for Ocean King and Silver Salmon for years!
Late spring storm front begins to pummel the North Coast of California just before the opening days of Salmon Season. The Memorial to Lost Fishermen stands in the rain reminding us of those who labored on the seas catching the north coast bounty including salmon, crab, rock fish and other commercially important seafood.
The Ann Me return to the Port of Brookings (Oregon) with its back deck full of crab pots. Time for haul back as the Pacific Northwest Commercial Crab Season draws to a close.
Entrance to the Port of Brookings, mouth of the Chetco River.
Threading the Ann Me between the jetty jaws.
Not flashy, hard work.
